Cloud put a smug look on his face as he scrubbed his hair with shampoo, thinking of ways to get back at Zack for a few minutes ago. The Soldier in question was still lying in his bed, in that same smug position with his arms crossed behind his head.
Wait, back up... 'lying in his bed....' Cloud's eyes widened and he almost squeaked... Almost. Zack... lying in his bed... Zack was actually-!! He shut his eyes tight as images flooded his mind once again, trying to keep them at bay. Zack was in his bed... In nothing but his boxers... He remembered seeing that smooth, muscled chest, the firm abs, and then...
Just then, an idea came to his mind. And idea of how to get back at him.
Zack closed his eyes and smiled to himself, replaying the time when Cloud had begun waking up and the adorable looks he had gotten. Especially the blushing... The blushing because of him, Zack. Somehow, that thought made him open his eyes and grin, looking over at the closed washroom door where Cloud was undoubtedly showering. Hm, perhaps it was unlocked...? No, no... Bad Zack. That's going a bit far.
Then again... If he wasn't caught... Bad Zack!!
The black-haired man sighed, staring at the ceiling as he tried to ignore the thoughts that were presently colouring his cheeks as well as doing something else to him...
Just then the door creaked open as the water stopped, and a very wet Cloud walked out shyly, towel around his waist. Zack grinned and looked over at him, eyes scanning the skin not hidden by the towel, which was pretty much his whole upper body and his legs. This was the first time he had ever seen Cloud wearing anything besides the usual attire, and his pyjamas. He shifted a bit, getting a little uncomfortable and checking to be sure the blanket was covering up to his waist. Fantasies flashed through his mind, and Zack suppressed a groan. Somehow.
Cloud watched Zack out of the corner of his eye, wanting to see his reaction, but not make it seem like so. He stretched, reaching his arms over his head, closing his eyes as he yawned. Zack's eyes immediately widened, watching the muscles move. He found his gaze trailing down his stomache, then a bit lower... He forced his gaze back to Cloud's face, knowing his mouth was hanging open somewhat. A fierce blush covered his cheeks.
Cloud opened his eyes and looked over at Zack. "Hm? Zack? Something wrong...?" He pretended to look confused, dropping his arms and looking at his friend with concerned, blue eyes.
"Huh? Oh! Uh... Nothing wrong, Spike!" Zack closed his eyes and laughed nervously, his hands in front of him moving side to side in the classic sign of, 'I'm nervous and don't want you to know.'
Cloud frowned. "If you say so..." He sighed and shrugged, walking over. "But... Zack...?"
Zack couldn't look at him anymore. He couldn't see those too innocent eyes, that spikey blonde hair, and of course... Cloud's clothing, or, lack of. "Y-yeah, Spike?" He opened his eyes immediately when he felt Cloud kneeling on the bed, and chanced a shy look to the side. Oh no, bad move. Cloud was on his hands and knees, leaning over Zack as he looked at his blushing face. Zack shut his eyes and groaned, looking away from his friend that he so clearly wanted to...
"Can I ask you something?"
"S-Sure. Of course."
"And you'll answer me truthfully...?"
"I would never lie to you." Not with those blue eyes. He couldn't. Even if he wanted to.
"Even if I asked you... Why you're wearing that interesting piece of clothing, lying in my bed, blushing, and looking like you want to rape something...?"
Zack's eyes shot open and his mouth opened to say something, but couldn't find the words. Oh Cloud was ANYTHING but innocent...!!! He looked up to see a very smug Cloud, who was obviously repaying him back for embarrasing him earlier, wearing his one of a kind, 'I'm too polite to laugh at you,' Cloudy smirks. Since the blonde was already leaning over him, he used it to his advantage, grabbing his shoulders and rolling them over. He straddled Cloud's hips and grinned.
"Z-Zack?" Now Cloud was the blushing one.
"You asked. I said I'd answer..."
Cloud pouted. "Alright alright... You win."
"Not yet I don't."
"Zack..." Cloud pushed at his chest. "Stop playing around." Cloud was a bit hurt. He knew Zack was only playing... Or at least, he thought he was. Soon, Zack would laugh and get off of him, right? It was only a game... Zack didn't really mean any of it... No matter how much Cloud wanted it to...
Zack cringed; just barely noticeable. He wasn't playing. "But I'm not, Cloudy..." He placed a hand lightly on Cloud's cheek, watching him shut his eyes. He could've sworn he saw something glistening.. Almost like a...! "Cloud?" He sighed and got off, not wanting to make the kid cry. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to-"
He was interrupted by a loud knocking sound on the door. "Lieutenant Fair, are you in here?"
Cloud rolled onto his side, facing away from Zack. "Go ahead Zack. I'll see you when you get back."
Zack reached out to grab Cloud's shoulder but stopped, biting his lip. He drew his hand back, looking at it. When he spoke, his voice was lifeless. "Alright... I'll be back when I can..."
